Approaching the Unknown

Dune WalkThis shot is at the end of the Empire Dunes trail at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore. Almost the entire trail twists and turns through woods until it gets to this very last section at the edge of the lake. Once I started walking down the wooden boardwalk and got out of the shelter of the trees, the wind was so strong it just about pushed you over. I had to wait for an ebb in the wind and even then stabilize the tripod just to get a clean sequence of shots to create this image. Although I have to say I really like the way this one came out. I love the whole “where does this path end” look.
