Jacob’s Cabin

At the end of the trail to Sol Duc Falls, there’s a strange looking cabin. I have to admit, I took a shot of it and moved on; but later on I did some research and came to find that this cabin was a depression era Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) shelter. The CCC was a group started by Franklin Roosevelt, which provided jobs for many thousands of unemployed, working in the forested areas of the country to prevent soil erosion, flood control, and the like.
