A River Runs Through It

It actually takes quite some time to drive from route 101 all the way to the Sol Duc Falls Trailhead in Olympic National Park, Washington. Although, to be fair, we did stop a lot on the way to check out the little scenic stop offs. As we past these falls (which you can see from the road) my wife insisted we stop. It was a good idea too, because we were fortunate enough to see multiple salmon hurling themselves out of the water, over the falls, and upstream to eventually spawn. We both agreed that even though we had seen this before on television, and knew how it all worked, it was just amazing to see in person, and we counted ourselves fortunate for the opportunity to see it happen right before our eyes.
