Anne’s Beach

The first time I visited the Florida Keys, I was imagining sandy beaches, fruity drinks, and warm breezes; pretty much everything off of the Corona advertisements. However, I learned quickly that this was a false impression. Whereas there are nice warm breezes and lots of places to buy fruity drinks, there weren’t very many sandy beaches. In fact, besides exclusive resorts, the only sandy beaches for public use are at Bahia Honda State Park, and here, Anne’s Beach. And even at Anne’s beach, it isn’t the typical sandy beach, it’s more of just a nice shallow area that goes out for miles that isn’t rocky underfoot. As I approached the beach from the parking lot, I saw this tree growing up right next to the beach.
