Up, Up, Up The Stairs

Do these stones look slippery? Well they should, because they are. I am almost convinced that Hocking Hills must have been some training ground for adolescent Indians back in the day. If you can traverse all six natural attractions and not slip and split your melon open on a rock, or fall down some treacherous precipice, then you get to be chief. Even today, I noted that if the state park was considered a business, OSHA would probably shut it down due to safety issues.

But for all its safety concerns the area is just fantastically photogenic. This is a view of the steps leading around to the Upper Falls at Old Man’s Cave. I used the tripod as a walking cane, and somehow managed not to roll an ankle.
