Fast and Shiny

I know what you’re thinking, “he’s put three pictures of the Detroit Auto Show up, and only 1 of those has actually been a “normal” car.” What can I say, uh, I’m not normal. I’m the guy photographing a graffiti’d up electrical box, across from a beautiful beach because I thought the paint had a cool texture and the writing, an awesome composition. That’s just me.

I loved the glass smooth finish on this formula one car (SAY YOU LIKE CREPE’S!). And just like the RR crotch-rocket that was parked right next to it (See post entitled “Slick”) that finish allowed me to capture all sorts of depth, reflection, and lighting in the polished clear coat of the car. This shot was taken in the afternoon on a Saturday (if I remember correctly) and unlike that morning (which was actually not all that packed) it was brimming with visitors by this time; as you can see in the flurry of activity in the background.
