Follow The White Rabbit

Have I mentioned before how much I like to shoot in parking garages? These places are awesome. They give you unique vantage points to shoot from and are generally pretty cool structures to shoot themselves.  I would say they are probably a little safer than just randomly walking the streets at night as well. That’s not to say you shouldn’t keep your eyes open however… A wild-eyed unkempt vagrant could be lurking around any support column just waiting to scratch you, thereby transferring their contaminated DNA to you. And then you’d probably have to at least take those pills that allow you to mountain bike, skydive, rock-climb, etc… And that just sounds exhausting… so don’t get into a situation where you can get scratched by a wandering transient.

This shot was taken in downtown Dayton, Ohio. It was early morning (one of the less likely times to be scratched) and the lights were still on in the parking garage, but the light was just starting to illuminate the structure as well. I love all the lines in this shot. The parking stop/pipe that leads to the spiral lift… it’s all very interesting to the eye. The added bonus is that the HDR effect really brings out the textures in the concrete and makes the whole thing pop.
